Dreadmoor Tattoo was born from the belief that craft, like honor, must be earned—and protected.

The shop first took form in 2020 as a 1,700 square foot space built with community at its core. Founded and solely owned by Tyler Bloomingdale, it was designed not as a factory of transactions, but as a gathering place for artists who respected the weight of the work and the people who carried it. For years, it served its purpose well—but by 2025, something felt absent. Not broken. Missing.

Tattooing, once rooted in lineage, trial, and mastery, had begun to feel fleeting. Disposable. Loud where it should have been deliberate. Tyler chose not to ignore that feeling. Instead, he opened the doors wider—inviting Michael, Makenzie, and Raina to stand beside him, not as employees, but as equals. Together, we reshaped Dreadmoor into a cooperative—bound not by hierarchy, but by shared responsibility, trust, and devotion to the craft.

Our collective love for the McCabe lineage, and our shared sense of something lost within the modern industry, pulled us backward through history—toward an era with sharper edges. A time when you either carried honor or carried nothing at all. When mastery meant survival, and winters were unforgiving to those who lacked purpose. That gravity became our compass.

The space was completely reimagined.

The front lobby was rebuilt as a threshold—dark, rich, and heavy with intention. Its walls hold artwork from masters who shaped us, taught us, challenged us. Trade was not just a theme, but a method: skills exchanged, labor shared, effort honored. Every detail carries meaning. Every surface remembers hands that built it.

To cross into Dreadmoor is to step into covenant. Bound in blood—not as violence, but as vow—we stand as a coven of brothers and sisters, grounded in trust and sharpened by discipline. Within these walls are the finest tools we could assemble, wielded with care, patience, and respect.

We do not rush spells here.

We cast only what is meant to last.

For those willing to cross the precipice—

welcome to the gateway.
